MUMmer
Goals
"MUMmer is a system for aligning entire genomes
extremely rapidly." (from Mummer web site). This
scientific program makes a very intensive use of memory during its
processing, so it is very interesting to know how well compressed
cache performs with this sort of application.
Methodology
A script for this test has been written to collect the data. Every
kernel compilation is done after a reboot, through a script linked to
the rcS.d directory.
